Cadillac Repair: 93 Seville STS Air Conditioning, seville sts, cadillac seville

We can't get the Air conditioner to recharge. The air was working fine, then the car sat for a year and now the air conditioner won't work and it is saying refrigerant is low and compresser is off. I'm sure there are codes that need to be cleared first, but don't know how to do that for this 93 Cadillac Seville STS.  We tried whatever you said to do for another year STS but could'nt get to the A/C info.  There are codes in there but which ones are for the A/C?

Hi Karen, When you enter diagnostics pay attention to the ACP codes...they are for the a/c. If there are codes then clear them by pushing low fan when the dash displays PCM?, ACP? push hi fan and continue to push low fan until it displays clear codes? then push hi fan and it should show codes cleared. Then if the sensors are ok and there is enough freon in the system  the compressor should engage. I wouldn't be surprised if you had a bad a/c clutch relay or a freon leak due to a bad evaporator core. Sorry it took so long to respond and hope this gets the a/c working again. Bill
