Chevrolet Repair: 1988 chevrolet s-10, blow steam, headgasket

Question
I have a 1988 s-10 2.8l overheated and now there in coolant in the oil. It does not blow steam or smoke from the muffler.

Answer
HI JOHN,,IF YOU HAVE COOLANT IN THE OIL AND NOT JUST SLUDGE, YOU MORE THEN LIKEY GOT IT SO HOT THE THE HEADGASKET BLEW OR CRACKED THE HEAD..YOU MAY NOT NOTICE ANY WHITE SMOKE AT THIS TIME,,BUT YOU WILL. WOULD SUGGEST NOT DRIVING THIS UNTILL YOU REPAIR IT..LOWER END BEARINGS DO NOT LIKE COOLANT...ONCE THE HEAD IS OFF, HAVE A MACHINE SHOP MILL THE HEAD AND CK IT FOR ANY CRACKS..HOPE THIS HELPS YOU,,,TOM..
