Chevrolet Repair: chevy, chevy tahoe, check fuel

Question
my chevy tahoe 04' at first had the check fuel cap, and i did. Then a day after my check engine light came on, i took it to autozone and they told me it was my fuel cap, so i bought a new one but light was still on. I took it againa and they told me it was my solenoid purge, that it had something to do with that. my truck has 70,000 miles on it

Answer
Hi Rosco.... make sure the cap is on right turn tight till it clicks...engine light will stay on till it has gone thru a tank of fuel approx. as long as cap on correctly...if you have purge solonid code, clear code and make sure cap is on ok. if code comes back you could have a plugged purge cannister filter...check and replace if plugged...hope this helps
