Chevrolet Repair: 1997 Chevy S10 Starting Problems, fuel pressure gauge, gas line antifreeze

Question
2.2 liter engine was running fine until extremely cold night.  Following morning started engine, allowed it to warm up.  Once it warmed up, drove off.  Engine lost all power, ran very rough.  Parked vehicle, assuming water in gas with resultant ice in fuel.  Later that day, added gas dryer to fuel, tried to start; no joy.  Starter fluid sprayed into air intake resulted in start and 10 second run.  Waited for warm weather, vehicle started and ran for 30 minutes.  Now back to no start without starter fluid.  Only runs for a few seconds.  Suspect fuel filter or pump.  Trying to change filter, but having difficulty with rusted nut on fuel line.  Figured I change that before tackling pump.  When ignition is turned on fuel pump energizes and runs for 2-3 seconds.  All fuses check good.  Any other possibilities?

Answer
Hi Victor... did you check fuel pressure?... check for spark. after you replace fuel filter install fuel pressure gauge...does pressure drop off after you start engine just before it quits...if it does may be bad pump...if not check for other blockadge in fuel line. try a good gas line antifreeze and or inj cleaner....it does sound like a fuel problem....when you have filter off put line in a container and turn on key see if you get fuel and see if it full of water....hope this helps
