Chevrolet Repair: 93 Silverado wipers, coloum, delay unit

Question
Robert,
I have a 93 Silverado, ext cab, 5.7, a/t, p/s, p/b, c/c, tilt, 2wd, 250k, exhibiting the following: the wipers run all the time. On, off, delay, and no amount of shifting the switch changes it. Finally pulled fuse. Wiper motor is new. Do not know status prior to new wiper motor, truck was not running for over a year, and wasn't mine then. Is there a test procedure to see if I got a faulty motor/delay unit or bad switch? Could wipers not be reaching park position?

Answer
Hi Claude... i would suspect the switch. pull the plug at the wiper and see if power changes on each wire as you move the switch.plug should be dead when switch is off and live on a different wire for each speed. switch is in the steering coloum if in doubt unplug switch under dash and plug in another without mounting it in the coloum see if it now works. hope this helps....merry christmas.
