Chevrolet Repair: 1999 Chevy suburban blower fan, power fuse, blown fuse

Question
Blower was intermittent, found a loose wire connection on the blower (black wire, black plastic pinch cover, wire connection on the right side of the two wires to the blower. Pushed it back on tight ran fine for a couple months. Now quit altogether. Black plastic shows some melting. The female wire end appears to have slid beside the spade on the motor rather than over it. Tried connecting with a wire touching the spade and the other end the female end on the wire, but no power. Fuse is OK and back blower works fine. Any suggestions? Thanks

Answer
If you have no power to the blower motor on all fan speeds it's most likely a blown fuse or defective fan switch. if it's inop just on some fan positions, it could be a defective switch, blower resistor, or high blower relay. You should replace the defective blower motor connector too.
