Chevrolet Repair: 1984 Chev C-30 Brake calipers stuck, chev c30, brake calipers

Question
I've got a 1984 Chev C30.  Neither of the front calipers release immediately after releasing the brake pedal.  Sometimes they'll release after driving a few feet, sometimes several hundred feet. The calipers will not collapse when I apply pressure with a c-clamp.  The calipers are not frozen.  I opened the bleeder screws while applying pressure with a c-clamp and they collapse.

Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Chuck, This is one of two things, the master cylinder or the brake hoses. I'm not sure where you live, but if you can get the brake line where it goes into the brake hose loose do this. Loosen the line and try to push the piston back on the caliper, if it goes back then the master cylinder is the problem. If they don't, then the brake hose is the problem.

Hope this helps
