QuestionQUESTION: I picked this car up cheap, thought I could make it run. on the #2 and #5 cyclinder same coil pack I can not get them to fire. I have replaced the coil packs and the plate that the coil packs set in,I have also did plugs and wires, I have replaced the injectors as well as the fuel pump, I have also replaced the computer. when I got this car it did not have a battery so I am not getting it to code. It had overheated and they did the top half of the engine, it has 173,000 miles on it. I get fire at the plugs and it seems to be in time
ANSWER: Hi Matt. did you replace that coil pack and module with new or used. if it was used i would try a set off a running engine, if new check to see if you have a problem in the crank/cam sensor,make sure the circut that drives the coils does not have a short. also check that the reluctor ring on the harmonic balancer is not broken, rusted or touching the crank sensor. hope that helps

QUESTION: hello I did replace everything with new, I also put a new crank/cam sensor in last night and this did not solve the problem, I am totally stumped with this one. Do you have another suggestion?
AnswerHi Matt... the only other thing i can think of is to check the timing...you seem to have done everything. it is just odd that you have only one coil pack not firing.I take it this car has a 3.4 l engine. if you are getting a referance from the crank/cam sensor to the module under the coil pack it should fire.try changing the coil thats down with another that works on the same module, you can move them . just make sure that your firing order is the same.i have seen them not work even when new...hope that helps
