Chevrolet Repair: 1994 tahoe blazer lt, chevron techron, top tier gasoline

Question
I have a 1994 Chevy Tahoe Blazer l/t and it runs and drives just fine. Love it to death but it has a starting problem. It will turn over no problem and if i turn the key of and off a few times before starting it attemps to fire but will not start. I have to squirt a little starting fluid in the breather for it to start. It has a vortec 4.3 liter v6. It does not slow down while doing up a hill and accelerates just fine. Do you have any ideas what it could be?

Answer
The way you explain the condition sounds like a weak fuel pump. This a common problem and on your model. I have replaced many fuel pumps for this exact same condition. I suggest getting the fuel pump replaced sooner rather than later. It will only get worse as weather gets colder ( not sure where you live). Make sure you replace the pulsator (if equipped) and gas filter that goes on the tank sending unit too.

Not related to the fuel pump; GM recommends the use of Chevron Techron Plus fuel injector cleaner every 3000 miles or so. Especially with the engine you have in your vehicle. Make sure you add it to at least 20 gallons of gas. It's cheaper than replacing the injectors.

And always use TOP TIER gasoline only. Go to www.toptier.com

Hope this helps
