Chevrolet Repair: surging, spark plug wires, vacuum hoses

Question
I have a 1995 cavalier,2.2L. This car surges or jerks back and forth when you are at a even speed, niether accelerating or slowing down. Has new head gasket with the head rebuilt.I replaced the tps, fuel filter, spark plugs, vacuum hoses and cleaned the throtle body. thanks for your help

Answer
Most of my experience with surging or bucking has been secondary ignition problems...cracked spark plug, defective spark plug, or defective plug wire. Have another person put vehicle in drive, hold the brake tight, and give it gas up to 1500 rpm or so.Use a spray bottle to spray down spark plug wires and coils with water. See if engine starts to buck and surge...look for arcing.
