Chevrolet Repair: 1992 blazer, chevy s10 blazer, s10 blazer

Question
I have been having trouble with my 4x4 1992 chevy s10 blazer with a 4.3l v6 throttle body not the vortec. it started a couple weeks ago i would be driving to work and it would just die. then it wouldn't start again it would just crank and crank. so i towed it home and put new plugs and wires on it and it ran about 40 minutes and died again couldn't get it to start back up. then i replaced the ignition coil and it ran just fine for about a week and a half and i parked it at college for a couple days and then it wouldn't start again. i can hear my fuel pump running so I'm thinking its still a spark problem. do i need to change the distributor too? if so do i need to do anything special besides replacing it like messing with the timing? and how do i do that? any help would be great I'm getting really frustrated with it. Thanks

Answer
This is probably not the distributor.  If it were, you would need to reset the timing.

Try the ign module.  This can be tested, but if it is intermittent, it may test good and be bad.  Usually found under the dist. cap.  Black and has 2 screws.

Are you sure it is not getting spark?  Maybe it is not getting gas.  The pump may be good, but how about the fuel filter.  Found under the truck, under the driver door or further back.  Next time it won't start, try loosening the gas cap.  Does it start now?  If so, you have vapor lock.

Let me know after you try these things, and it doesn't fix the problem.  We try more things.
