Chevrolet Repair: How too open, venture van, bad hope

I have a 1999 Chev venture van the question is how do i get the back door open the latch is broke inside the door it seems i cant get too it from the out side ive also tryed from the inside but it seems the plactic would break if i pulled on it any more too get my hand inside is  there a easyer way of doing this

Hi Dave, You need to get that door panel off to get the door open. Sometimes the panel will crack when you pull it off because of the door being closed but there is nothing you can do about it. After you get it open you can play with the latch to make it open, most of the time it is the locking part of the latch that goes bad.
