Chevrolet Repair: 98 Chevy Tahoa, fuel contamination, chevy tahoa


Question
The truck has about 75K miles and when it starts, it idles for a minute OK then starts to run at a faster idle then slows down and almost stalls out. It will continue to do this until it does stall out. When driving it, it will no make it up hills. Happened overnight. Thanks for your help.

Without having physical access to the vehicle there are numerous possibilities:

1. failing fuel pump.

2. restricted exhaust (plugged catalytic converter).

3. Weak ignition to the sspark plugs.

4. Valve timing out of specs.

5. Fuel contamination. (water).
