Chevrolet Repair: No downshift on 95 Blazer 2WD 4.3, bad hope, valve body

Question
It seems on hot days after my engine warms up and I've been driving a little while, my engine fails to downshift.  If I pull over and stop the engine and then restart, it runs fine for a little while, then repeats.  I took it to the dealer and he could not duplicate.  No error codes. This does not happen in the mornings or when it is cooler out. Help

Answer
Hi Shawn, This sounds to me like a transmission valve body problem. I would either have a new valve body installed or let a tranny guy drive it for while and see what he thinks. The only other thing is the trans shift solenoids that go bad.

Hope this helps you

Let me know how you make out
