Chrysler Repair: 2001 Chrysler T & C Drivers pwr seat

Question
QUESTION: Up & down operation is sporadic.Sometimes the seat reaches either the upper or lower limit & then refuses to respond .The mechanism clicks & attempts to move, but cannot. It corrects itself after many attempts & sometimes days. All other forward, backward & tilt operations operate normally?

ANSWER: Hi Ed,
I have the '98 and '02 manual on hard copy which I would have to photocopy to share with you, and the '04 manual on CD and from that I can copy pages and attach them to an email I would send to you directly. The texts appear to be similar for all those years, as do the wiring diagrams. There are separate diagrams for the memory and non-memory seat types so you would need to tell me which your have.
There also appears to be two vertical riser motors (front and rear) rather than a single motor. Is that what you seem to have, as perhaps you have lost the function of one of those motors entirely and the other is intermittent. Having two motors produces a tilting choice.
Each motor has a self-resetting circuit breaker which may have failed, or the problem could be with the contacts inside the power seat control switch. The manual shows that wiring and how to test it after removing the switch.
So that is what I see and can offer to you. There is no simple answer but you could try to repair it yourself with the aid of the manual pages.

QUESTION: I Have memory seats , would appreciate whatever you could send.

ANSWER: Hi Ed,
Is the up/down riser working now?
I ask because the manual warns that too frequent allowing of the seat's motion to reach the limits of movement of the motors can result is a failure of the motor's internal circuit breaker or the motor proper. With that understanding I would suggest that once you have restored the motion function that you try to avoid moving the seat up or down to the limits of its movement so as to avoid invoking the circuit breakers to be activated. See if that then makes the motion reliable in the future.
There are 5 pages of wiring diagrams and about a dozen selected pages of text that I could copy from the '04 manual and attach all those to an email I would send to you directly. It is a good deal of effort to do the copying of these pages one at a time and similarly attach them one at a time to the email.
I would encourage you to see whether the seat will be reliable by trying the suggestions in paragraph one above. If that doesn't work, then tell me and I'll do the copying. Tell me your email address but don't use the @ symbol, instead use "at" or the address will be automatically erased.
Thanks for you understanding.

QUESTION: Roland, the seat is not working. Could use the manual's help.  My E-mail is edwardh516atoptimum.net

Answer
OK, I did copy the wiring diagrams and the info about checking out the control switch and sent it today as two separate e-mails. Thanks for the rating/nomination which you are welcome to do again.
If none of the motions are working then I would check fuse 22 and the power seat circuit breaker (30 amp), if it is just the vertical motors then the switch and their motors are suspect.
