Chrysler Repair: 2008 Dodge Avenger P0014, 2008 dodge avenger, dodge avenger

My fiancé purchased a 2008 Dodge Avenger earlier today. On the way from the dealership the check engine light came on so we stopped and had the diagnostics read. It came back as follows:
aa1-loose cam or crank sensor
aa2-excessive timing chain free play
aa3-blocked oil passage in the camshaft actuator assembly or engine
aa4-incorrect oil quality or viscosity.

I called the dealership and they told me to call back in the morning, I'm concerned about the findings and they way the dealership is acting. Can you please explain what these mean and the solutions, as I have little to no knowledge about engines. Are these small fixes or are they going to be huge expenses? Thank you!

Hi Sara,
I have checked my manuals which unfortunately do not cover the '08 Avenger. That in and of itself should not prevent me from discussing the fault code that you have (P0014) BUT I could not find a reference to that specific P0014 code. The lowest number I have is P0016.

The four possible causes suggests however that there is a discrepancy between the rotational position of the camshaft and the crankshaft of the engine. This might be due to a loose sensor of one of those two rotating parts, or it could be due to the timing chain tensioner being loose, or it could be due to some mechanical/lubrication issue.

The four "aa" items apparently are the possible explanations for the cause of the code. It is probably only one of those, and the first and fourth explanation would be a minimal issue to deal with.  If the second or third were the cause then that would requires some time to fix and involve removing the timing covers on the front of the engine to repair

I don't know what warranty came with the purchase of the vehicle, but I would insist that the problem be addressed by the dealership and corrected unless no warranty was provided.
The proof of its repair would be to drive it for a few days/10's of miles and then to have a fault code readout done after they tell you it is fixed, so that you can verify there are no new or residual 0014 fault codes stored in the memory of the engine control module.
I wish I had the specifics, but given the immediate check engine light notification I believe that the dealership is responsible for correcting this. Please let me know what happens.
