Chrysler Repair: car cuts off: 94 LHS, side exhaust manifold, exhaust gas recirculation valve

Question
I recently changed the iac on my 94 lhs. My car had been cutting off when I slow down or try to turn a corner
My rpm is steady when I start it up. But once I start driving and it drops to 500 it cuts off. At this point I don't know what to do
Can you help me.

Answer
Hi David,
If you have tried for new fault codes and found none, then I would be inclined to check out the exhaust gas recirculation valve (egr) for possibly being stuck slightly ajar which shows up either on starting it from cold (hard start) or when slowing down (die off). Find the stem of the valve between the round vacuum-operated actuator and the body of the valve which is mounted in a small pipe that branched off the right side exhaust manifold. The stem is hidden by a flange. It has a slot in the stem into which you can insert the tip of a screwdriver to move the stem back and forth, against spring action which tries to close it. If it is sticky in its movement the spray some WD-40 on the stem where it enters the valve body and then work the stem some more.
That may solve the problem.
