Chrysler Repair: securety system? engine wont crank, starter solenoid, chrysler town

security light stays on 2002 chrysler town&country and car will not start engine will not crank.hope you can help me              thank you.

Hi Joe,
The security system doesn't prevent the starter motor from working. It allows the car to start, then it shuts it down after about 3 seconds of running. So you may have a battery or a starter relay, or a starter solenoid, or a starter itself issue. Once you get it to crank, if it starts and dies shortly thereafter, then you  have a security disarm problem. Try to lock/unlock the passenger door using the door key to disarm the system.
