Question
We have been having issues with a 1996 chrysler town n country van the secruity system keeps turning itself on and wont allow us to start it then we get everything reset ie disconnect battery attempt to manualy reprogram the keys itll work for a couple of days then the problem is back.We do not have a key fob do you have any suggestions on what this problem could be and a fix for this priblem.

Answer
Hi Chris,
I am not clear what you mean by 'reprogram the keys'. But in any case, the security system is integral to the body computer and you can't remove it without removing the body computer and all that it does would go with it. Chances are there is an intermittent wire connection between the driver door lock and the body computer such that it isn't getting the disarm message when you unlock the door with the key. If you don't want to get into troubleshooting the wire there are two approaches.
One would be to never 'set' the alarm in the first place by avoiding the use of the power door lock or the door key when you exit the van but instead secure it via the mechanical push-button on each door being set and then just close the door behind you. The other possibility is to use your key in the passenger side door lock when you enter the van as that one may be more functional than the driver side key lock connection to the body computer as far as cancelling the armed status of the system. If you want to get into the wiring troubleshoot let me know.
If you can't disarm the system by the passenger side door lock, then it is possible to replicate the signal that should be seen at the other end of the wire at the body controller pin were the wire from the door patent. You would want to buy a 249 ohm resistor and a 1,500 ohm resistor at an electronics store (approximate values).  Then put one end of the 1,500 ohm resistor to the white/dark green wire at pin 45 at the body control and ground the other end of the resistor, which would cause a locking action, and then do the same with the 249 ohm resistor which simulates the unlocking and disarming. These resistance values assume that your vehicle never had a remote key fob.
