Chrysler Repair: 99 intrepid: ATC dark/blower on high only, fuse block, 1999 dodge intrepid

Question
QUESTION: i have a 1999 dodge intrepid with climeant control, the fan is always on high and the digadul readout doses not work, you can navigate threw the controls but you cant turn the fan off or see what your doing. any help would be great. thank you

ANSWER: Hi Rick.
The first thing to do is check fuse 17 (10 amp) in the fuse block behind the left end cap of the dash. It powers the readout so that would probably if blown produce what you have going on there.

QUESTION: thanks Roland, i will try that, would that also make the fan stay on high?

Answer
I can't know for sure, but the fan speed is controlled by a 'solid state blower motor module' which is controlled of course by the ATC panel. I am not certain what the default position would be in the event of a blown power supply fuse to the ATC, but if that is not case, but you do get lights and other apparent control at the panel, but the blower still is stuck on high, then you would want to get a replacement for the module which is under the dash mounted in the HVAC housing for reasonable easy replacement.  First you have to get the controller running again.
