Answer
Hi Charlie,
The sensor is mounted in the timing belt cover on the front of the engine, specifcally to the driver's side of center, hidden below the rectangular duct of the upper intake manifold. The manual suggests that you will want to loosen the upper intake manifold to access the bolt to the sensor for removal of it. I believe you can do that without disconnecting any of the many sensors wires on the manifold. The mechanical things you have to loosen are the right and left side supports at the rear, and similarly at the front along with the support in the center of the front at the manifold tuning valve. Loosen the upper fastener attaching throttle body to support bracket. Then loosen the 7 bolts on the top of the manifold sufficiently to give you access to the sensor. If you go counter clockwise starting at the rearmost bolt, then the frontmost, and wind around moving inward you will finish at the bolt on the driver-side middle. (Reversr the pattern when tightening the manifold, moving clockwise, torque to 9 foot-pounds).
When you install the sensor, leave the paper spacer on its tip, push it in until the tip comes in contact with the cam sprocket that is hidden from view. Hold it there and tighten the retaining bolt to 9 foot-pounds.
Then retighten the manifold and reassemble the brackets.
