Chrysler Repair: 2004 Dodge SRT 4, 2.4L Turbo motor; Battery drain, .5 amp, fuze 4, dodge srt 4, 2004 dodge srt

Question
Kevin,

I have a battery drain (.5 amp drain with everything off, (tracked to fuse #4, Interior lighting) as described in the subject line. As I was trying to track down the component causing the drain, I noticed the following:

Door open, interior light on, all else shut off = 1.27 amp drain. Close door, .5 amp drain. Open door, 1.27 amp drain, wait 10 minutes with door open, light goes off, drain decreases to .02 amp drain.

From this behavior, I think that the courtesy light controller may be causing the problem (just my uneducated evaluation). Do you know where this component is located in my car? Any other ideas pop up that points to something else?

Thanks for your help!

Leonard

Answer
the correct way to check for a drain is to keep the battery connected then put inline the amp meter with out loosing connection from when the battery was connected wait 10 min for the modules to time out then see how many mili amps u draw   anything over 35mili amps is a drain see what circuit has the drain then.
