Chrysler Repair: no injector pulse on 2.5L V-6, injector pulse, spark coil

Question
my 1998 chrysler convertible sebring (v6) started acting up to the point it won't start.  I have spark to the plugs and fuel to the engine but it appears no injector pulse.  Is there anything I can check or is the pcm at fault as I've been told?

Answer
Hi Fred,
If you trace the injector wiring on the front three cylinders you will find a 4-wire black disconnect which carries the 12V supply common to all injectors that is also the supply for the spark coil (dark green/orange wire) and the three injector 'driver' wires for those injectors. You could verify that while you are cranking that you are getting the 12V and also you might be able to see the individual pules on the three driver wires (if the resolving time of your voltmeter is fast). That will tell you if those 3 cylinders are getting the necessary power to be fired. The rear bank doesn't have such access but if these are OK so should be the rear. If you don't get the 12v then I would wonder if you don't have a failing cam sensor in the distributor (but you should get a fault code 0340 were that the case, and you wouldn't get 12v at the coil single dark green/orange wire on the 2-wire plug). So I think you have the info now to try and sort this out.
