Chrysler Repair: 2.5L V-6: hesitation on acceleration, throttle position sensor, crank sensor

Question
Hey Roland,

I yet, have another issue with my sebring! Ok, Long story short, Last night I went on a hunt to find a sound coming from my car. After a few hours fond it was the crank sensor hitting the flywheel because I had installed it wrong last time. So, it looked pretty beat up, So I put a new one on, Tested the new one before I put it on, and then put it on. Sound went away.

At the same time I took off the plenum to fix a valve leek, nothing abnormal I did, just tightened a few screws. And I put it all back together again. No leaks.

Then I start the engine, Idling perfect, and then it happens... When I Open the butterfly really fast when the car is in idle, it bogs down really bad, and almost quits running all together. So first thing I went back to check was the crank sensor, to make sure it is sending signal back (5.5-6v) and that turned out to be fine. I replaced the MAP sensor just because I have a few laying around and that made no difference. Checked for something unplugged and a a vacuum leak and I fond nothing.

Any Ideas roland? This car drives me nuts!

Answer
Hi Ian,
Other than looking for new codes, I'd start with the throttle position sensor and check its wiring harness for any signs of damage, then check for the smoothness of the change in resistance between the middle and an outer pin of the sensor as you open the throttle. Make sure there are no 'open' spots over the entire range of motion.  No other ideas come to mind.
