Chrysler Repair: 04 300M headlight housing replacement, pin fasteners, negative battery cable

Question
I just bought new headlight assemblies for my '04 300M.  I've been doing some research on the web.  Is this a hard job to complete?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Jesse,
Open hood
Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable from remote tower location
Remove one bolt retaining the washer bottle filler neck and move aside.
Remove the two bolts retaining the speed control servo and move aside.
Remove fasteners to upper radiator crossmember:
two jack screws on each side
three crossmember retaining bolts on each side
three push pin fasteners across top of grille
Gently pry back grille and remove the two bolts to front crossmember. This will allow you to move crossmember forward, pivoting at the radiator grille, to access the headlamp unit
Note: Once the crossmember is loose, take care not to scratch the fenders.
Maneuver the headlamp unit to remove from behind the fascia. Gently prying of fascia may be needed to clear it enough to remove the headlamp unit.
Disconnect the lamp connector and transfer lamps if replacing the housings. Do not touch bulb glass surface.
Installation:
Connect the connectors.
Maneuver the headlamp unit to under the crossmember and behind fascia. Gentle prying on the fascia may be necessary to clear it enough to install the housing.
Balance of the process is the reverse of the removal procedure.
Then verify headlamp operation and alignment. Then close hood and check that hood is flush with fenders.
That is how the '04 manual describes the task. Good luck.
Roland
