Chrysler Repair: 2002 Ram Truck: electrical problems, power door locks, windshield wipers

Question
i have a 2002 dodge ram 4.7 lt truck and im having problems with the gauges not working, my signal lights, horn, inside lights, brake lights, door locks, windshield wipers, and the only light that shows on on the dashboard is the security light which stays on all the time even if the truck is on/off. The truck does run but with all these problems.i took it to get it checked out and they said it was the instrument cluster but can you tell me if this sounds correct??

Answer
Hi Beatriz,
I doubt the cluster gauges alone explains all these problems but I need to ask you some questions.
I have the '04 manual so I can't be sure the wiring is identical to your '02. In the box that is under the hood where the fuses are located, are there 53 fuses? If so, then I have the correct diagrams, otherwise I don't. Please let me know the answer.
Are you saying that all these devices don't work: gauges, turn signals, horn, interior lights, brake lights, power door locks, windshield wipers?
Did these all fail at once?
Was there any insult to the electrical system when it began?
Have you checked the fuses in the box under the hood that has all the fuses for the vehicle to see if any were blown?
Any history of this situation would be helpful to know.
Roland
PS Sorry for the delay but I just found your question in the "pool" to which it had been referred. Please 'rate' my answer. Thanks
