Chrysler Repair: 04 Neon: cluster gauges/dome lamp flaky, dodge neon, neon 2

Question
Here's my situation:
I drive a '04 dodge neon 2.0l  and the gauges in my cluster dont work
everything works on the cluster (lights) except the needles + my dome light doesnt light up when i open the door!

what i did was I unplugged the cluster then  plugged it back in...it fixed the problem the dome light goes on when i open the door and the gauges start working well !

Now when I turn my car off, if i start the engine like 2 minutes after, everything is fine, gauges works! but if i let it off with no key in the ignition for more than like 10 minutes, when i will open the door the dome light wont come on and the gauges wont work when i will start the engine!

PLUS i have this code: U110c ( NO FUEL LEVEL BUS MESSAGE‎) which is intermittent
It is not the cluster because i have tried a well working one and it did the same thing
Now everytime I take my car i have to unplug then replug the cluster which works everytime
Please help !

Answer
Hi Martin,
The one thing that connects the cluster with the dome light is fuse #13 in the power distribution box under the hood. It is 'hot' all the time, but in your situation I suspect that the fuse is faulty (has an intermittent due to a crack in its wire) or is poorly connected. The cluster is involved with the courtesy lights (such as the dome light) by means of a courtesy light control switch at the cluster and that the door ajar switches also route through the cluster.  The Neon (which doesn't have a body control module) uses the cluster for that function. So that  courtesy switch could somehow be involved with the problem but the circuit diagrams don't show its details. The dome lamp appears to have its grounding wire pass through the instrument cluster. The interior light system and the cluster gauges appear to thus be commonly dependent on the cluster "drivers" that are powered by fuse 13.  So focus on that fuse would be my suggestion.
