Chrysler Repair: Blower motor: 01-05 Minivan w/ATC, chrysler town and country, prong plug

Question
I have a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country with 3 zone auto climate control.  The heater fan will not blow for up to a couple hours of use after it has sat overnight.  Sometimes it will start working right a way other times it takes hours before it will blow.  During the non working times, it will not blow on high like other issues I have read about. The temp gauge works normal and the motor heats up normal. Coolant level is good.  Where do I start looking for the problem?

Answer
Hi Darrin,
I checked the '05 manual and can tell you about the circuit:
Starting at the blower itself, it is plugged into a blower motor module nearby in an air duct via a twisted pair of power wires that end in a 2-prong plug. You could start there and verify that the motor is good by jumping the battery 12v supply to the 2 prongs.
The other end of the process is the front blower motor relay located in the intergrated power module on the left fender of the engine comparment. It is the front-most relay in the middle row of three relay. You could feel/listen for that relay to click on and off when you have the ignition 'on' and a helper calls for the blower action.
If it clicks, then I would check fuse 10 (40 amp) near by to see if it might have a subtle crack in it which opens and closes the circuit at random. In between the relay/fuse and the motor is the blower module itself and it is called into action by the control panel switch. I can give you the pins on other plug of the module so you can verify that voltage from the fuse is reaching the module, and that 'call' is being received from the control at the module.
But start with the motor/relay/fuse and then let me know if you haven't located the cause. We can then narrow it down to whether it is the module or the control unit that is at fault, if necessary.
