Chrysler Repair: Reattaching the front caliper hold on clip on a 2004 Chrysler Sebring, 2004 chrysler sebring, chrysler sebring

Question
I need to know how to reattach the caliper clip on a 2004 Chrysler Sebring on a friends car. I changed the front brakes on his car yesterday, and Im having a hard time reattaching the front clip that slides into these 2 holes on the front of the passanger side caliper? It keeps popping out of the front of the caliper, it just wont stay in place no matter what I do? I called a repair shop about it, and they say that the clip is bent and thats why it won't stay on the caliper. I ordered at new hardware kit for his car, it comes in to "hopefully", now will the new clip just clip on, or is there a special way it needs to be placed back on the caliper in order to have a good hold on the caliper assembly??? I need whatever help you can give me on this problem Im having, everything else seems to be ok, its got a soft pedel, but I gotta bleed the brakes then, but the clip thing is my big problem??? Please help me out please!!!!!

Answer
Hi Trevor,
If the clip on the driver's side caliper is set up OK, then just use that as your best example of what you need to do. That is the standard approach to avoid these problems: only do one side at a time and use the other side as a reference. Sorry to say I don't have a manual that shows the specifics for that model/year.
