QUESTION: removed both door switches checked with continuity tester also grounded both wires. unplugged body computer lights went out will have used computer in 3 days.aney precautions for changing?

Hi James,
It is not surprising that the lights went out when you unplugged the body computer, that would have happened no matter what was causing the problem because the body computer is what turns them 'on'. I wouldn't doubt that the issue could be a short between the socket pins of the computer rather than the computer itself, but see how the new/used one works out. I don't believe there should be any issue with changing it out unless you happen to have a theft security system originally installed on the vehicle which might require re-programming but I can't be certain about that because I don't have the '95 manual. Up through '94 the theft system was a sepearate module located above the glove box (remove glove box to access if that is the case) and then in most of the '96 model vehicles the theft was a part of the body computer. I suspect they didn't change anything about that system in '95 because that was the final year of production. If it starts but then dies after a few seconds that would be a sign that the theft system is alarmed out and needs to be reset.
