Chrysler Repair: Sebring Convert.:water in rear wheel well/panel, seabring, stiff wire

Question
I have a 1999 seabring and there is water in rear wheel panels and I need to find out out to get the seats out so I can unplug it.  My carpet is soak

Answer
Hi Fran,
There is a drain on each side of the car that is probably plugged and which is causing the carpet to get wet. There is on the external surface of the underside of the body a seam which starts at the front of the rear wheel opening and runs forward from there. Along that seam there is a drain hole which is covered by a flap. If you lift the flap you will find the hole. Insert a stiff wire into that hole in order to clear it of debris and the water will then start to drain out from the area behind the panel. I don't believe you will need to remove the seat or the panel inside the car but rather locate the seam/flap/hole on the underside of the body on the outside surface.
