Chrysler Repair: 94 T&C Auto Rear Latch Release solenoid/circuit, solenoid coil, amp fuse

Question
My push button for the rear door has stopped working.  I seem to be able to hear the relay / solenoid clicking when I push it but it does not open the rear door.  I have checked all the fuses that I can find and they are all good.  How would I check the relay / solenoid and where is it located?  And would there be any other cause that this would not work?  Thanks

Answer
Hi David,
There is a relay block near the fuse panel that has 10 positions for relays. The bottom one of a column of 3 that is on the edge of the block is the relay that energizes the solenoid at the rear hatch. That may be what you are hearing if the sound is from under the dash. Fuse #27 is the source of power that relay controls. The solenoid current leave the relay on a light green/black wire, exits the left side of the instrument panel on pin 8 of a 16-pin disconnect and continues to the liftgate where it connects to a 3-pin plug at the solenoid liftgate release (color changes to dark green/yellow) and the solenoid coil is grounded to the lift gate panel proper. So those would be the points to trace out the circuit to identify where it is failing. There is a 40 amp fuse in the power box under the hood, #60, second from the front of the row of 7 on the left fender side, that also needs to be patent for current to reach fuse 27 in the cabin fuse box.
