Chrysler Repair: Cigarette Lighter Removal, needle nose pliers, cigarette lighter adapter

The end of my GPS adapter got stuck in the cigarette lighter adapter/socket.  Im trying to remove it with a needle nose pliers but am not having any luck. Whats the best way to try and remove the stuck part? Thanks in advance.

Hi Dana,
First thing to do it be sure that you remove the fuse for that socket so you don't blow it. It is usually on the same fuse that handles the horn. Or disconnect the battery, or write back and tell me the year, model, body style and I can tell you which fuse it it on for sure.
I don't have any experience with such a situation, but if you can't get it out without damaging the socket you may have to do it, and replace the socket.
