Chrysler Repair: 01 town and country: blows air on high only, blower motor resistor, flexible sides

Question
The front AC/heat blower only works on the high setting. What would be the cause? Is this easy to repair?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Rick,
The cause is the blower motor resistor (sometimes called the resistor block). When it fails the blower only runs on high. You will find it hidden behind the glove box, inserted into the ac/heater housing part called the evoparator. It has a multiwire plug that you simply remove, then unplug a second two-wire plug that goes to the blower motor,  then unscrew the two screws that hold it in the housing and pull it out. Make sure the resistors aren't touching one another on the new block, then insert, and reverse the steps. The glove box drops down to reveal all this by pushing in on the top flexible sides of the box so it clears the stops and lets it drop open.
