where is the fuel pump and fuel filter. engine not getting gas

Hi Richard,
The fuel pump is in gas tank, and the filter is just outside. But the lack of pump action may be electrical in that the pump will not be powered if the engine computer doesn't get signals from the rotational sensor(s) that the engine is turning over (due to sensor failure, for example) or it could be a fuse problem.
So don't assume there is a problem with the pump or the filter. Other diagnostics are posssible but you didn't tell me the year/make/model/body/engine so I can't help yet.
