Chrysler Repair: interior light bulb replacement::00 LH, 2000 chrysler lhs, chrysler lhs

Question
the bulb i am trying to replace is an INTERIOR bulb in one of the reading lights
in the overhead console.  i have removed the obvious screw at the bottom of the
overhead console surround but the console will not release so i can get to the
defective bulb. is there another hidden screw i need to remove?   this is a 2000
chrysler lhs.   dennis

Answer
Hi Dennis,
Here is how I answered a similar question a couple of weeks ago:
"Either remove the - post remote battery attachment from the strut tower under the hood or remove fuse #19 from behind the dash (remove left end cap of dash after opening driver door to access fuses).
I assume these lamps are mounted in one of the two types of overhead consoles. Those consoles are removed by removing the screw (if there is one on your console type) on the windshield side of the console. Then grasp the outer edges of the console and pull straight down to release the clips at the rear of the console that hold it in place. If there was a screw then instead grasp the front of the console and pull straight down. If pulling down on the front doesn't release it then pull dowh on both sides. The map bulbs are then accessible after you disconnect the wiring and remove the unit entirely. I believe the bulb is a #192."
