Chrysler Repair: 99 Town & Country EGR error P0403, solenoid switch, vacuum hoses

Question
I have a "check engine..." light on. Per the ODB2 reader I have a EGR circuit malfunction. The van runs well. If I reset the error, it comes back within a mile or two of driving. Occasionally it turns it's self off for a few miles until the engine is warm. I have replaced the downstream O2 sensor on the exhaust pipe, no change.

Also when I have the ODB2 reader hooked up to the van, the Catalyst, Oxygen, Oxygen Heater and EGR monitors all blink. Per the OBD2 manual this means the their diagnostic self testing.

The EGR valve and vacuum hoses look good. Before I spend another $70 on replacing the EGR valve, are there other places to check?

Answer
Hi Carl,
The 0403 code says that the egr transducer solenoid circuit is open or grounded, or the solenoid itself has an open or grounded coil. It is possible but not likely that the voltage supply from the switch to the solenoid open.
The solenoid switch at the egr valve has a 2-wire connector. The white/black wire on pin #2 should show 12V when the ignition switch is in the run position. The gray/yellow wire should be connected to pin #40 of the powertrain control plug that carries wired 1-40. So begin by checking that out.
