Chrysler Repair: 99 Town & Country drivers side brake light wont work, worse case scenario, wire splice

Question
99 Town & Country driver's side brake light won't work, passenger side OK. I
have changed the bulb. Switched bulb socket holders too. Running lights work. Looked over the switch at the brake peddle, all seems OK. Can hear the plunger
activating the switch.
Any suggestions?

Answer
The wiring for the brake lights operate on a single lead to the rear of the van. From there, there is a 4 wire splice. The power lead, right and left brake bulb and the high mount. The last time I had to find that junction, was on a 1996. It was behind the left interior panel, clipped on the body, just below the glass. Worse case scenario, splice into the high mount or the right side and run a new lead to the left side. Another possibility where problems occur is where someone has installed a trailer plug using those blue squeeze tap connectors. After awhile, they can cut the wire. If you have trailer wiring, trace back to the splice point and check for power on both sides of the terminal.
