Chrysler Repair: 2001 town & country:jerks when slowing, independent garage, autozone

Question
my 2001 town & country jerks when reducing speed.

Answer
Hi Monica,
The description of your problem is too vague to be specific. My suggestion would be to go to an Autozone parts store for a fault code readout of the powertrain module which may give a clue as to what is wrong; they will often do that for free. If you can't get that then an independent garage will do the readout for around $40. Ask for the 4-digit fault code number(s) and what they mean, what they recommend, and for how much. Then write me back and we'll compare what you learned with the shop manual. Tell me which engine you have so I can be specific.
About the only thought I would have now is you might have too low a level of fluid in your transmission, so check its dipstick to see how the level shows it to be.
