Chrysler Repair: Instrument Cluster problem, independent shop, model body

Question
Gauges would go haywire. Was told that I needed to replace the instrument cluster. Had the cluster replaced and it seems that the cluster is still going haywire. What could I try to do next?

Answer
Hi Michael,
The plug wires could be inspected at the cluster and at the body computer, particularly the ground wire. It is also possible to do a fault code readout which would pinpoint which other component might be faulty. You can get that done for free at an Autozone parts store, or for about $40 at an independent shop. Once you get the fault code numbers let me know what they are, and also tell me the year, make, model, body style of the vehicle.

PS: Sorry for the delay, I just saw your question in the pool yesterday.
