Chrysler Repair: belt squeak in right side of engine, chrysler sebring, belt tensioner

Question
2002 chrysler sebring (62m/miles) When the car is hot,a loud squeaking noise comes from the right side of the engine. It happens more, when you push on the gas pedal. When you come to a stop it goes to nothing.I go to a ASE Certified garage, which has replaced the belts numerous times. It works for about a week, then it's back. Open for ideas. I think the garage is out of them.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Greg,
If the theory is a belt squeaking is the cause, and replacing the belts does work for a week, then my thought is that one of the components that is driven by the belt or perhaps the belt tensioner itself is out of alignment from the plane of all the other pulleys. If you take a straight edge and place it across the end of each pulley and then view the alignment of the edge in comparison to the other pulleys, you should be able to find one that is either tilted or out of the plane of the other pulleys in which case you would need to make an adjustment in the location/tilt of that item. So take a look at that as an hypothesis to pursue. The belt tensioner and its pulley may be the first item to focus upon.
