Chrysler Repair: 96 Sebring:Wipers, sebring, specifics

Question
I have a 96 Sebring and if you tap on the wipers they will come on and I dont know why as long as you are not driving down the road or tapping on them they won't come on but if you go down the road they will

Answer
Hi Richard,
There is obviously a flakey connection somewhere in the circuit, most probably in the wiper switch itself since you can make it work by jiggling the switch ( if that is what you mean by "tap on them"?)
There is a Sebring sedan and a Sebring convertible so we have two differect possible set-up. If you want to take off the wiper switch and examine/clean the contacts let me know which body type you have and I can give you the specifics of that. Does the problem happen both when you have them in the intermittent variable setting and also when you have them in the continuous slow and continuous fast setting? Tell me about that. And tell me what it is that you tap upon to make them move.
