Chrysler Repair: 2001 dodge neon: p1193, dodge neon, intake manifold

Question
I have a code p1193 do you know how I can fix it?

Answer
Hi Erick,
You didn't specify the engine so I can't be exact as to details, but there is a temperature sensor mounted possibly on/around the fat corrugated hose from the air filter housing to the intake manifold, or mounted on the manifold itself. It has 2 wires colored black/light blue and black/red. I would suggest that you check the plug and harness for any faults, and if none then either replace the sensor or test it electrically to see if the resistance drops across its terminals as the temperature of it rises. It should be about 10,000 ohms at 70F, and drop to about 1,000 ohms at 200F.  If not, then that would be a basis for replacement. It should not be too expensive and you can do it yourself.
