Chrysler Repair: P1391, P0725, P0700 Codes on a 2001 Dodge Intrepid?, fuel pump filter, position sensors

Question
Recently replaced the transmission in the car and it ran
fine for two days. Then I'm driving along, the car loses
power, the gauges go nuts and flash, and I'm dead in the
road. The car turns over, but acts like it's starved for
gas. I check the codes and replace the Crank and Cam
position sensors, along with the fuel pump filter. The car
cranks over, acts like it wants to start, but won't run.
Sounds like a timing issue to me.

My only thought is, the timing belt slipped, but didn't
break?
How can I check the timing with the coil on plug setup?
Is there any way to inspect the timing belt w/o pulling the
front of the engine off?

Answer
You will recall that we exchanged q and a's earlier this month about your car. I am competing to be recognized as 'expert of the month' for November, and the voting ends Sunday afternoon. If you would consider giving me a vote, that would be most appreciated. Use the "Thank/rate" tab below where you will see "nomination?" and then change the 'no' to a 'yes' to give me that support. I hope things are well with you and your vehicle.

Hi Rich,
If you want to check the detailed timing of the cams/crank I believe that you will need to remove the covers which does involve alot of removal. I would however believe that if the timing were off that you would find the compression of the cylinders to be degraded. The compression should be at least 100 psi with the engine warm, all the plugs removed and the throttle body wide open.
The gauges going nuts/flash makes me think this is a wiring issue however. Have you checked for the fuel pump running for about a second when you turn the key to run? Have you checked for spark while cranking it over (You will want to ground the plug to the cylinder head while checking).
It could be the ignition switch has a flaky section. The 1391 is about intermittency of the sensors you replaced which could be a wiring harness issue rather than a sensor issue so that is also why I suggest this alternative.
I can't find a specific 0725 but it is no doubt a transmission code, which may be stale.
Sorry for the delay in answering, your question just appeared in the 'pool' this morning.
