Chrysler Repair: Security disarming without an available key faub, faub, ebay

Question
Recently I completely lost my car keys and remote, whereabouts still unknown, so in the meantime I went to the dealership and got a replacement key for around twentyfive dollars. But the remote was around $130 !!! then another 30 to program it. I was doing fine without it until without thinking I locked my doors. Setting the alarm. Woke up for work around 6 a.m. and it went off. Luckily I keep tools to unhook the battery inside. I tried turning the key the other way but it didn't disarm. I unhooked the battery thinking it would reset itself but it hasn't yet. I've heard I can look on ebay and find used or cheaper remotes for a fraction of the cost. Please help! The cars too beat up to spend 160 bucks for three buttons that fit in my pocket. Thank you for your time. --------walkin' in Nebraska

Answer
Hi Josh,
You didn't mention the year and model which might be a factor. My suggestion would be to try the door key (lock/unlock) in both of the front doors to see if one of the other will disarm it. If it is a minivan you could try opening the hood, then lock/unlock the hatchback which will temporarily disarm it (for about 25 key cycles).
Once you tell me the model/year I can also tell you how to mimic the action of the door key at the pin of the body controller to which the door key locks are connected on the assumption that the wires are 'open' which would explain why the door key won't cancel the alarm.
