Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Voyager family, chrysler voyager, electrical problem

Question
Hi roland,

Got a problem with a Chrysler Voyager Family.  The Remote Central Locking works, but not via the key fob.  Tried new batteries.  The Radio has also stopped working the same time and the rear right flap window won't shut.  could it be an electrical problem running from the same circuit?  Tried the fuse for the radio and its working ok.

Many Thanks for your help and time.

Answer
Hi Jon,
The only fuse that is related to the key fob module is  the ignition off draw fuse (IOD), which is # 28 in the '96-on vans, located under the hood in the power distribution center box near the battery. The radio uses that fuse too for remembering the station pre-sets.
If the other window are working, then it either has to be the switch for that window, or the motor for it. The pins on that switch for the motor are 1 and 5 of the door mounted control switch. So you could check for 12V between those pins when you try to operate it,
reversing the polarity when open or close is requested. If you get the voltage then it has to be the motor or its built-in fuse.
