Chrysler Repair: 1994 Concorde transmission problem, air control valve, chrysler drb

Question
Hi Roland,
My boyfriend has been fixing a Concorde given to us by my dad for the past couple of months with your help! You have answered other peoples questions so well that we were able to fix many of our own problems with ease! Thank you. One problem we are now having is with the transmission.  When the car is going aprox. 40 and 60 kms. it sounds very rough. It doesn't like going at those two speeds. We don't have the tool to check the codes, so I was hoping you could help us with one of your very educated guesses. :)
We have had this problem since we got the car (about two months) We recently replaced the idle air control valve because we had an engine code for it (the car would suddenly shut off when we were sitting at a light or sometimes when going in reverse, and it would rev high for a second when idling). Those problems have gone away but it still runs rough as I explained. Thank you in advance for your time.

Answer
Hi Roseanne,
I wonder if it is the transmission rather than the engine. "Rough" is a word that generally describes poor engine output (missing) rather than what a transmission might do. Could you tell me more of what you are experiencing? The code readout of the trans of course requires a Chrysler DRB II and would be very helpful if it is the cause of the problem. But tell me more.
Roland
