Chrysler Repair: 2000 Chrysler Cirrus, haynes manual, fuse panel

Question
We recently purchased a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus and have found that there are no brake lights.  We replaced the bulbs but that didn't help.  We now need to check the fuses but the car did not come with a manual so don't know where the fuse panel is or what number fuse to check.  Can you help?

Answer
Hi Jan,
I checked both my '96 shop manual and '96-'00 Haynes manual. Both show the fuse to be #4 (20 amp)in the power distribution box under the hood near the battery. So take a look at that one. The other place to check is the brake switch itself which is located under the dash above the brake pedal lever. Make sure that it's plug is attached and it is properly positioned. Let me know what you find those suggestions don't work.
