Chrysler Repair: instrument cluster illumination, intensity brightness, relevant history

Question
Is there any other reason for the instrument cluster illumination to go out other than the fuse or light bulb?

Answer
Hi Trudy,
The intensity (brightness) of the cluster bulbs is adjustable, usually by twisting the knob that turns on the headlamps (or maybe a separate wheel-type adjuster on the dash) and that might be in the totally dark position, thus no illumination. Lastly, it could be a wire connecting the circuits to the voltage source. But aside from the fuse, and the adjuster, the wire that grounds the circuit, I don't have other suggestions. I would doubt the bulbs because they would all have to fail simultaneously for this to happen. But check whether you have an intensity adjuster.
If you can't solve it, let me know the year, model, body type, and any relevant history and I will look into the circuitry for you.
