Chrysler Repair: 1999 chrysler intrepid Power windows, amp fuse, chrysler intrepid

Question
I have a 1999chrysler Intrepid and all of a sudden my power windows fails to work .I switched fuses and they still don,t want to work ? What could be the problem Thank you    Bernie

Answer
Hi Bernie,
If nothing else seems to be out of service then I would direct your attention to circuit breaker number 1 (below the array of fuses) in the junction box (fuse box) under the dash. Try resetting that as that is the "fuse" for the power windows system. There is a large 40 amp fuse in the box under the hood that gives power to the circuit breaker but it also supplies the heater/AC system and other things which if working mean that large fuse is OK. Other than the circuit breaker #1 you could check the ground for the system which is a bolt under the driver seat, on the rear of one of the ribs in the floor pan. If you have power and a ground but no action anywhere then it has to be the switch or interconnecting wires.
